[video] Former Russian politician believes that Ukraine will be safe only after the “fall of Moscow”

The defeat in the war against Ukraine would not kill Russians' imperial aspirations.

The Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine will most likely end with the liberation of the Crimean peninsula and the eastern regions of Ukraine, but the victory will not temporary unless the Ukrainian flag is hoisted on the Kremlin walls, according to Russian historian and journalist Dmitry Chernyshevsky, a former politician elected to the Saratov regional legislature on behalf of the ruling United Russia Party.

In his opinion, Ukraine will need two stages to emerge victorious from the "conflict that has already lasted for 400 years". The first – the liberation of the Russia-occupied territories, and the second – a victory over the imperialist ambitions of the eastern neighbor. The second stage involves an offensive on the Russian capital and its occupation by Ukrainian forces to dictate peace terms that are favorable to Kiev, the former politician said in a video on his personal YouTube channel.

"One or two decisive battles are coming. But even today we can say that Ukraine's victory is not far. The only question is the extent of Russia's defeat [...]. We must understand that for Ukraine it will get its victory...

She must create such post-war world in which the Russian Federation or what will remain of it can never again threaten the existence of Ukraine. To achieve such a victory, Russia must be defeated on the battlefield," Chernyshevsky emphasized.

The fall of Sevastopol (a Ukrainian port in Crimea that serves as the main base for the Russian fleet in the Black Sea) will be the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and Vladimir Putin's regime will probably collapse at that point, but the fall of Moscow will mark the end of the empire, he stated.

Ukraine will never feel safe as long as the Russian state dreams about rebuilding the empire - and the war in Ukraine is a campaign of principle in this regard - and there are no guarantees that Russia, after a comeback, will abstain from an new invasion westward.

"The West must understand that if it fails to force Russia to make peace on Ukraine’s terms, after the liberation of Crimea it will have to support a Ukrainian campaign to occupy Moscow. The quasi-fascist Russian state, which does not depend on the economy or the people, can only be brought about by the force of arms, not at a negotiation table. This state is dangerous, it is a lethal threat to humanity. The liquidation of the Russian nuclear arsenal is a duty of humanity […] I still hope that my countrymen will be able to rise up and get rid of the Putinist bedbugs. If not... we have to prepare for the worst scenario," said Chernyshevsky, who retired from public office in January 2021.

Earlier he also predicted the dismemberment of the Russian Federation into several states after the war. Turn on English subtitles in the video below.

Is Moscow preparing for air strikes?

There’s a curious thing – a truck carrying anti-tank concrete pyramids overturned on a road a few kilometers from Moscow, the Russian authorities keeping the accident under wraps last winter. Netizens who sent images to the newsroom assumed that the blocks would be installed at the gates of the Russian capital.

At the same time, video recordings on YouTube showing that the army installed "Pantsir-C1" anti-aircraft defense systems on the attic of several buildings in Moscow, including the compound that houses the Ministry of Defense.

Users commenting on this event claim that the roofs will not hold up much under the weight of the 30+ ton equipment.
